||The "Meet the Experts" Forum on Cloud Computing for Business and Engineering will provide the opportunity to learn about the latest cloud computing applications for engineers. The presentations will include a description of what cloud computing is and how it functions.|
Luis Ledezma will discuss how cloud computing is going mainstream and present examples on how the cloud is used as an office and engineering productivity tool. His presentation will provide details on the layers, service models and business drivers for the cloud, including information on service subscriptions in accounting, inventory management, FEA Simulation Software and CAD. Luis will also include demonstrations of cloud applications presently available.
Luis received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University. Prior to joining SMP Tech, Inc in 2007, he was an Adjunct Math Professor at the National Hispanic University where he earned Adjunct Faculty of the Year. Since joining SMP, Luis has shared his expertise in product testing, manufacturing process, electrical engineering and quality control on nearly all projects.
Ramon Busboom will provide a review of the current challenges faced by the engineering community and provide insight into some of the promising solutions on the horizon. He will explain why the cloud is a game changer that is expected to allow very small teams and individual engineers to be able to access CAD models, drawings and other product data from inside the company and beyond, using mobile devices.
Ramon, Vice President of Product Development at GoEngineer, Inc., has been involved in the CAD/CAM marketplace for over 16 years. Currently, Ramon helps define how technologies are utilized and integrated, working with customers across a wide range of industries.
Tom Roberts, of SMP Tech, will be the Forum Moderator. After the presentation, a complimentary buffet lunch will be served to all attendees.
