Sanjay Shah, California HealthCare Foundation Program Officer, will provide an overview:
-CHCFs vision to make sustainable impact across California's healthcare system, defined by reducing costs or increasing access to care
-What is meant by "program-related investments"
-A brief case study on a recent investment in a current CHCF portfolio company
-The role of the foundation and program-related investments in the investor ecosystem
He is joined by Missy Krasner, Morgenthaler Ventures, and Abhas Gupta, MD, Mohr Davidow Ventures (MDV). Ms. Krasner will discuss some interesting segments in health IT for investing via Morgenthaler's investment thesis and share information about the Third Annual DC to VC: HIT Startup Showcase taking place at the Health 2.0 Fall Annual Conference in SF on Oct 10, 2012. Dr. Gupta will describe his work on MDV's digital health investment strategy and with healthcare seed-accelerator Rock Health.
