The San Francisco Symphony League took over the Imperial Floor of the St. Francis for the "White Nights!" cocktail party, a prelude to the upcoming Russian Festival.
Event chairs Victoria Kornblum and Patricia Sprincin kept the ice-cold vodka flowing for the 450-plus guests who also sipped Mumm Cuvee champagne and munched on caviar while enjoying the views and dancing to the Black Market Jazz Orchestra. Neiman Marcus also provided informal gown modeling.
Guests included Sandra Farris, Cheryl Popp, Barbara Brookins-Schneider, Roy and Helga Curry, Claudette and John Nicolai and Taissa Cherry and date Charles Rashall. Some opted for girls night out, including Lee Gregory, Lily Samii Liz Keogh and Elizabeth McBride.
The night before, supporters of the San Francisco Zoo met at Matrix Fillmore to celebrate the upcoming "Night Owl's Ball – The First Night at the New Zoo," the grand re-opening of the Zoo. Attendees included Brenda and George Jewett, Allison Speer, Gavin Newsom, Andy Rogers, Michael Folk, Jozi Howard and Denise Campbell, who still managed to dress for the occasion even after a bad car accident – no problem, just wrap that broken arm in a leopard-print sling. Zoo II president Nina Parker and board members Doub Albo, Keri Hattich, and Lisa Holladay were also there spreading the news about the Zoo II party on Tuesday, June 4 at Le Colonial from 6 – 8 pm.
Just down the road, members of the Little Jim Club met for their annual dinner at the St. Francis Yacht Club. Reigning Mardi Gras Queen Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom was the special guest. Others enjoying the evening were Susan Martin, Mary Karen Fippinger, Marsha Williams, Erin Nelson, Muriel Wilson, Darcy Brown, Kristi Hermanson and Mary Kate Winters.
