Symphonix and Bravo took home the gold with two fun parties to prepare for the upcoming gala openings.

The Symphonix group of the San Francisco Symphony gathered at Neiman Marcus to sip pineapple martinis and admire the surrounding finery - and maybe shop for a gown to wear to the gala opening on September 8 (cocktails and dinner will be held in City Hall).

Gala co-chairs Barry Shotts and Christiane Pelz are planning an elegant evening to commemorate Michael Tilson Thomas's 10th season as maestro of the San Francisco Symphony.

The Bravo Club of the San Francisco Opera also had a party at Chaya Brasserie to gear up for the San Francisco Opera's gala opening on September 10. This year's sold-out event will feature a special performance by acclaimed soprano Renee Fleming. Pre-party chairs Claire Fisher and Jennifer Kano invited guests to sample Chaya's yummy hors d'oeuvres. Bravo's opening night gala party will take place in the Green Room in the Veteran's Building.
