| Encore Gala Gears Up at Shreve | | November 20, 2003 | | | By: Carla Zuber | | Current Column | | Search The Column Archive | | One good reason not to eat too much of Grandma's fudge over the holidays is to fit into that fabulous gown you plan to wear to Encore's Silver Starlight gala for the opening of the San Francisco Ballet on January 28.
The opening night committee held a kick off party in preparation for the big night. Encore partnered with Baume & Mercier and Shreve & Co. at the pre-party where Baume & Mercier also launched its latest collection, Hampton City.
Encore president Anne Marie Fowler and Opening Night co-chairs Stephanie Russell and Howard Huberty welcomed Baume & Mercier president Edward Wright who flew in from New York for the event. Edward also generously presented the young professionals ballet group with a check for $8,000 on behalf of Baume & Mercier. The watch company also donated a $6,000 Hampton City watch set with 118 diamonds and lucky Jamie Leap walked away with the gorgeous watch.
Laura Jackson Giron, co-owner of La Crema Winery was on hand with her husband Rick Giron (La Crema is providing the wine for Encore's gala dinner). Laura was also joined by Andre Boada and Elaine Mellis from La Crema.
Others attending the soiree included Dana Marie Sanchez, Melissa Gisler, Cecilia Marihart, Debbie Lopker, Matt Sanchez, Beverly Bloodworth, brother and sister Michael and Victoria Penfield, Carrie Marz, Greg Bryan, Densie Winkle, Matt Challis.
Richard Horne of Shreve & Co. was a gracious host - as
always.
