The tables were hot but the drinks were chilled at "An Evening at the Tables of Macau" last Saturday at the Asian Art Museum.

Presented by Monsoon of the Asian Art Museum Chong-Moon Lee Center for Asian and Art Culture, the spectacular evening featured fantastic food, dramatic decor, a faux-cash casino and not-so-dowdy dancing thanks to DJ St. John. Maija Muncy Frisbie and Brent Smith co-chair the fete while Price + Price Productions supplied the stunning decor, including a red carpet that led up to two large fu dogs and maple trees framing the front door.

The ground floor of the museum was transformed in the streets of old Macau with colorful laterns, strolling acrobats, a noodle maker and magicians. Red pillar candles lined the stairway leading upstairs and beautiful silk laterns were suspended from bamboo poles. Birdcages were hung from the ceiling on the loggia around the stairs while guests were serenaded by singing crickets.
Fork & Spoon Productions provided an authentic Macanese supper...guests devoured the crispy calamari served in paper cones.
